New ReadiStep Test

FYI:  The College Board will offer a new test next fall called ReadiStep http://www.readistep.com/index.html.   Intended to be used as a “diagnostic tool to provide information about a student’s strengths and weaknesses” this test will be administered to 8th graders.  The test is not designed to determine a student’s readiness for or ability to do college work (like the PSAT and SAT), but rather as a way to help educators determine whether or not a student is where he or she needs to be.  The new test can be completed within two hours and is divided into three multiple-choice sections of critical reading, writing skills and mathematics.

It's always nice to have something new to talk about with the kids around the supper table...  this accessible and interesting article has a lot to offer, and not just to those interested in the sciences... Some great fodder for discussion with your GT kids!  Enjoy!
