 Meet the TeachersMinimize

Beatriz Albrook
Hola, my name is Beatriz Albrook. In 1992, I graduated and worked as an attorney at law in Mexico. I married my husband and moved to Colorado almost 16 years ago. When I had little ones of my own, I decided to go back to school and take courses for a foundation in a career in Early Child Education. This is my 5th year teaching Preschool at Sandburg. I currently teach the Caterpillar, Butterfly and Firefly (PDO) classes.
I have been working with Preschoolers for almost 8 years now. I also teach the Spanish enrichment program here at Sandburg.

I have two children of my own that attend Littleton Public Schools. My youngest son Christian is currently in the 5th grade at Sandburg. I strongly believe that empowering and challenging children is essential to their lives without leaving the fun out.

Tracey Hansen
Hi, I'm Tracey Hansen and I have the privilege of being the Preschool Manager, and a teacher at Sandburg.  This will be my fourth year at Sandburg Preschool.

I have enjoyed working in Preschool/PDO programs for numerous years as a teacher, Assistant Director, and Preschool Manager.  I have my Degree in Early Childhood Education.  As a teacher of young children I know they are constantly learning.  My goal is to plan fun and interesting activities that will help to develop their reading, writing, and math skills as well as their social and emotional skills.  I also believe in redirection and lots of positive reinforcement.

My husband and I have lived in the community for nineteen years.  Both our children have attended Sandburg Preschool and currently attend Sandburg Elementary.  My son Jack is a fifth grader and my daughter Grace is in the third grade.  I've enjoyed getting to know all the wonderful staff, children, and parents, as a teacher and as a Sandburg parent.

 Carol Lowell
My name is Carol Lowell, I'm an Activity Leader in the Carl Sandburg’s Preschool Program. I am happily married to Ed, my college sweetheart. We have two lovely daughters, Heather and Melissa, two adorable granddaughters, Ashley and Layla, and two happy rescue dogs, Skeeter and Rory.

I earned my B.A. in Social Welfare at California State University in Long Beach, CA. My experience working with youth has included children of all ages in a wide variety of settings. While my children attended primary school I was employed as a nurse’s aide and was placed in the locations where children had special medical needs. I have previously taught preschool at Littleton United Methodist Church in the Parent’s Day Out Program. In addition to having my own classroom I co-taught the music program for all seven classes twice a week. This included producing and conducting the end of the year stage performance for friends and family. Thank you in advance for sharing your children with me.
