Hi, I’m Laura Magruder and I will be teaching the 5th grade students here at Sandburg. I am very excited to be a part of the Sandburg family and I look forward to getting to know my new students for the 2007-2008 school year.
This will be my third year teaching at Carl Sandburg. In addition to my experience at Carl Sandburg I have also taught for three years in the Denver Public Schools and three years in the Chicago Public Schools. All of my teaching experiences have been in the intermediate grades. I received my Master of Education from DePaul University in 2000.
I am originally from Chicago and have been in the Denver area for five years. I have truly enjoyed my experiences here thus far and know I will have many exciting experiences to come. I have found that living in Colorado suits me, because it allows me the opportunity to do many outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping, rafting and skiing.
Again, let me express how excited I am to be a continued part of the Sandburg community and I know that I am looking forward to a great school year and I hope that my students are too!
