 Kindergarten Registration Minimize

Registration for the 2008-2009 school year will take place Monday and Tuesday, February 4th and 5th from 9: a.m. to 3:45 p.m. both days and in the evening on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. Please bring along proof of residence, which is a copy of your lease or a copy of your deed, your child’s immunization records from the doctor, and your child’s birth certificate to register your child for kindergarten.

 
  
 About our Kindergarten Options Minimize

Kindergarten Options at Sandburg are designed to meet the needs of community. We have half-day and full-day options.

Kindergarten Options

  • AM Kindergarten: Half-day; AM only.
  • K (Kindergarten Plus Extended Day): Full-day, tuition-based. Five day AM kindergarten taught by licensed teacher. Two to five day PM enrichment activities taught by non-licensed teacher.
  • KED (Kindergarten Extended Day): Full-day, tuition-based, 5 days. Enrichment activities delivered throughout the day.  Taught by licensed teacher.
  • K/1 (Kindergarten/First Grade): Full-day, tuition-based, 5 days. Taught by licensed teacher. Class is made up of Kindergarten and 1st grade students.

New this year is Friday Friends.  This Friday only class gives the children in half-day kindergarten the opportunity to attend one full day a week in the K Plus class doing fun activities, and meeting new friends!

  • August 21, First Day of School:
    • AM Kindergarten: 9:06 (first bell at 9:01) – 11:50
    • K , KED, and K/1: 9:06 (first bell at 9:01) – 12:13 (early dismissal)
  • Regular School Hours:
    • AM Kindergarten: 9:06 (first bell at 9:01) – 11:50
    • K , KED, and K/1: 9:06 (first bell at 9:01) – 3:43
  • Late Start Day Hours:
    • Dates: 8/29, 9/12, 9/26, 10/10, 11/7, 12/5, 1/16, 2/6, 2/27, and 4/9
    • AM Kindergarten: 11:06 (first bell at 11:01) – 1:02
    • K , KED, and K/1: 11:06 (first bell at 11:01) – 3:43
  • Early Dismissal Day Hours:
    • Dates: 9/21, 11/2, 2/15, 4/25
    • AM Kindergarten: 9:06 (first bell at 9:01) – 11:50
    • K , KED, and K/1: 11:06 (first bell at 9:01) – 1:03

Dates to Remember

Kindergarten and Preschool Registration: Monday, February 4 and Tuesday February 5

Time: Monday, February 4th --9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. & 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, February 5th -- 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 pm

Items needed for Registration for Kindergarten:

  • Your child’s birth certificate
  • Your child’s immunizations record
  • Proof of Residence: Copy of your lease, deed or a current Excel bill

    Kindergarten Round-Up – April 24, 2008, 5:30 p.m.

    Kindergarten Screening – in May

    Heart of Sandburg-Auction-Friday, February 22 at the Crystal Rose, 8351 Southpark Lane

    Tuition Based Programs for Kindergarten: There is a non refundable registration fee of $85 due at the time of registration if you choose a full day option.

    Child Find: Littleton Public School’s Child Find Team offers free screening for children birth to 5 years of age. You may call 303.347.6980 for an appointment.

    Preschool Registration for new families will begin Monday, Feb. 4th in conjunction with Kindergarten Registration. Openings will be filled on a first-come, first –served basis. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $55 for one child, $75 per family due at the time or registration. Please feel welcome to come visit our programs at any time and if you have any questions please call Denise Brickley at 303.734.5791.

    Recycle inkjet cartridges and cell phones: Sandburg receives $1.00 per cartridge/phone. Drop them off in the Sandburg’s front lobby or call the office at 303.347.4675 to set up your own drop off site!

    Walmart Kids Recycling Challenge: Need a place to recycle your shopping, dry cleaning, grocery, or packaging plastic wrap? (no black bags please.) Sandburg is now collecting plastic bags. We receive $5.00 for every full container box. Just bring your plastic bags to the office.

    Box Tops: Start saving now. Sandburg receives $.10 for each Box Top collected. You may bring them to the lobby.

    Scrips: Grocery Certificates for King Soopers, Safeway, Albertsons, and Tony’s, as well as Chili’s, Starbuck’s, Panera, Sunflower Market, Vitamin Cottage, and many more are available every Friday morning from 8:40 to 9:10 in the lobby.
    Kids at the Heart of Sandburg: February 22 at the Crystal Rose, 8351 Southpark Lane. If you need a donation form, you can find them at the front office or call Michelle or Vickie. 

    Security at Sandburg: Please use the front lobby ONLY to enter the school building. Upon entry, sign in and get a badge. All other entrances are restricted to staff and students and to those who have checked in at the office that day. This procedure is for the safety of us all. PLEASE RETURN ALL BADGES TO THE BASKET ON THE DESK.
