The Panda Bear’s New Mom
By Meredith O.
The Invisible Shoes
By Joey, Mrs. Jiskra’s First Grade
One Saturday morning my mom said to put on my new shoes because we were going to go out to eat. I was right in front of my mom, but she could not see me. Then I realized I was invisible. I took off my shoes so she could see me.
“You can go out to go play now,” my mom said. I put on my shoes.
So I snuck the cupcakes one by one from the fridge in the kitchen. I ate seven strawberry cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Then I felt stuffed. I thought sneaking the cupcakes would be fun, but it was not. So I came down the stairs moaning. My dad can’t see me because he is blind, but he thought I was a ghost because he heard me moaning. He got scared. I felt bad.
Those shoes caused me mischief so I wanted to exchange the pair of shoes for ones that have speed. I got my speed shoes, and it happened all over again. More mischief!
Glenwood Springs
By Hilary, 2nd Grade
When I went to Glenwood Springs, my two aunts, one uncle and my aunts’ parents were coming with us to the hot springs pool. The pool was really crowded, but we were the only Indonesian people there, so we could find each other. The pool that was wider than the school was the warm pool. It goes deeper and deeper. There was another pool on the left, it was the hot one. When you go deeper it turns really hot. Both of the pools smelled like salt and they tasted like salt, too. Whenever it stops snowing, there’s fog to keep you warm, and we took pictures in the warm pool.
We saw people ski. The mountains are tall. My dad took a picture with some skier. Then, we went to the hotel and slept there, but my dad was snoring too loud. So, when he stopped snoring I fell asleep right away so I wouldn’t hear my dad snoring. The next morning we woke up and went to Grand Junction. We took a lot of pictures there. We made a wish in the tunnel. If the driver honks the horn in a tunnel, you make a wish then close your eyes until the end, and your wish will come true. I wish that I can go there again because the hot pool was really relaxing. Glenwood Springs is awesome!
The Jaeger Family
By Reganice, 2nd Grade
On Saturday afternoon I went to the Aurora park, and I saw my friends Hillary, Taylor, and their little sister Patricia. Soon we were on a ride I like to call the mini merry-go-round, and I don’t like it because every time I go on it, I get the feeling I’m going to throw up. Well, if you don’t know what it is, there is a circular thing that you can sit on. There is a bar you hold onto while the other people who are waiting to get their turn twirl the other people. It is also a good way to meet new people.
Later on we all went to the swimming pool. I said, “Guys, do you want to have a swimming contest?” They said, “What kind of swimming contest, Reggie?” I said, “Whoever can touch the bottom first and who can get to the other side first gets to have a root beer float or an ice cream sundae with me at my house and to the movies. But no one won. So I said, “I guess I have to do all that stuff with my baby brother. But, I am generous.” I said, “Why a long face guys?” They replied, “I wanted to have a root beer float with you Reggie!”
Then I changed my mind to let them have a root beer float with me and my little brother at my house. As soon as we got to my house, my mom made us ice cream sundaes and root beer floats!
I enjoyed my time with my friends at the park, playing swimming, and eating root beer floats at my house. I loved it!
